The Riviera, from the sea

The Map

Where Season 4 is being made — two hotels, one film festival, a principality, and a rumor across the Atlantic. Each pin carries the colour of how sure we are. Choose one.

A painted map of the Côte d’Azur seen from the sea: the Saint-Tropez peninsula with a hilltop château, the red Esterel rocks, the bay of Cannes with its grand hotels and the Lérins islands, Cap d’Antibes, and Monaco on its rock

Every place, graded

  1. Airelles Château de la Messardière

    White Lotus du Cap

Ramatuelle, on the hill above Saint-Tropez — A 19th-century château among umbrella pines, now a palace hotel — the season’s hilltop hideaway.

  2. Saint-Tropez

    on location

Var, Côte d’Azur — The harbour town below the château; one of the four places HBO named when filming began.

  3. Hôtel Martinez

    White Lotus Cannes

La Croisette, Cannes — The 1929 art deco palace on the Croisette, dressed as White Lotus Cannes — the logo on its windows and carpets is art deco too.

  4. Palais des Festivals

    the Cannes Film Festival

Cannes — The season’s week is the festival’s week. The crew filmed at the real 2026 festival, on the real red carpet.

  5. Monaco

    on location

the Principality, east of Nice — Named by HBO among the season’s four filming places; what happens there is not known.

  6. Hôtel Lutetia, Paris

    interiors only

Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris — The story does not go to Paris — Mike White says Paris is only for supplementary shooting; the Lutetia was to stand in for interiors.

  7. Palm Beach, Florida

    a rumor

Florida, USA — Deadline heard that Mike White was shooting there the week of 13 October. Not an announced location.
